Terms & Conditions of the SenShinRyu Karate Association

Each karate lesson will normally last for a period of 1 hour, all students are expected to train at least once a week

Each new student is required to apply for a Membership Identity Card (with photo and admin ID number), on starting classes (within 14 days)

For uniformity and practical reasons students will be expected to purchase a karate suit (GI) and club badge within a reasonable time of starting (1 month)

For Health & Safety issues National Sports Council (Sport England) legislation requires every karate student to be licensed and adequately insured and their current grade recorded into a Grading and Record License book, this to be applied for within 3/6 months of starting at a karate club.

Gradings are to be arranged every 4 months (approx.) to monitor progress of student, on production of an up-to-date licence, SenshinRyu Identity Card, appropriate fee plus permission of Instructor and Parent or Guardian. (Belts and diplomas are awarded accordingly)


For the safety of the student certain equipment will need to be purchased at a later date, head-guards, hand pads, chest-protectors for sparring and competitive purposes. The English Karate Governing Body (Karate England) must approve these specialised items

Senshinryu operates an active Child Protection Policy (Mike O'Brien on 01275.810459. is our named CPO) and for child protection reasons junior students will not be allowed to leave any training hall (dojo) unless accompanied by an authorised adult .

All SenshinRyu Instructors are CRB checked have Instructors Indemnity Cover for £5.000.000 and are Karate England registered Instructors.

Karate classes are not seasonal and any new members/beginners wishing to enrol in new classes will only be allowed to join at the beginning of each new month.
